How do I find locations in McEwen Hall?

Answer

McEwen hall is physically connected to Reed Library.  Finding locations in McEwen can be confusing:

1.  Rooms on the main floor (the same floor as the entrance to the library) begin with G, e.g., G-24 and G-26 (small lecture halls) .
Rooms on the next floor up start with 1, e.g., 106 (a lecture hall) and 103 (Sheldon Media Lab).
There are large lecture halls on the second floor, where all locations start with 2, e.g.,  202, 209.
Offices of the Communication Department are on the third floor, where all rooms start with 3.

 2.  Access to the various floors is via stairs (begin on the ground floor and go only to the second floor) or via an elevator (goes to all floors). To find the elevator from the ground floor:

  • exit the library, turn left
  • at the cafe stand, turn right
  • continue, but before exiting the building through the exterior doors, turn left
  • continue down a hall and look for signs for the elevator.

During business hours, the secretary of the Communication Department can also be of help - 716-673-3410.

The campus map gives general locations of buildings.
